Our Manchester workshop is where the learning actually happens — not on a screen, not from a slideshow. You will spend three full days working with professional equipment, guided by an installer who does this job every week. Six delegates per group. Never more.
Most people who come to BE Academy have never touched a CCTV camera in their lives. By the time they leave, they can design a system, install it, configure it, and hand it over to a paying customer. This is what three days of focused, practical training can do.
Choose the free waiting list to register your interest, or pay a £50 priority deposit to secure your seat and guarantee the founding price. We accept a maximum of six delegates per cohort — once those places are taken, the next available date is your only option.
You will spend each day in our workshop going practical hands on experience. Every exercise uses the same equipment and methods employed on professional installations. Your trainer works alongside you — not in front of you.
You will leave with a certificate of completion, a pricing reference guide, and the practical ability to quote and carry out a CCTV installation for a paying customer — with 30 days of personal support available if you need it.
There is a significant difference between a trainer who has studied CCTV installation and one who carries it out commercially every week. Your trainer at BE Academy falls firmly into the second category. Every technique covered on this course has been used on actual jobs — residential properties, commercial premises, and everything in between — across Greater Manchester.
This means the knowledge you gain is current, practical, and relevant to what customers actually ask for. You will not spend time on methods that look good in a textbook but rarely appear on a genuine installation job.
Delivered by British Engineers — a security and engineering company that has been operating professionally across Greater Manchester for over a decade.
Our workshop has been set up specifically for this training programme — not borrowed from a conference centre or converted overnight. The equipment here is the same specification used on professional installation jobs. You will work on it, configure it, fault-find on it, and by the end of the course, understand it thoroughly.
Each day is structured to build directly on the one before it — starting with the fundamentals of how security systems work and finishing with the business knowledge to turn your new skills into paid work. You do not need any prior experience to begin, and you will not leave with gaps that only become apparent once you are on a real job.
Identify and explain the differences between analogue, HD-over-coax, and IP CCTV systems — and advise a customer on which option suits their property and budget
Design a complete 4 to 8 camera system for a home or small business, specify the correct equipment, and produce an accurate written quote
Mount cameras securely, route and terminate cabling to a professional standard, and test every connection before signing off a job
Configure a DVR or NVR from scratch — including recording schedules, motion detection settings, and secure remote viewing on a mobile device
Diagnose and resolve the faults that arise most frequently on installation jobs: no picture, power supply failures, and network connectivity problems
Write a professional quote, price your labour accurately, and conduct the customer handover conversation in a way that builds long-term trust
If you are currently working in a role that does not reflect your ambition or earning potential, this course offers a practical route into a skilled trade with genuine demand. No previous experience in security systems is required — only the motivation to learn something new and apply it.
If you have recently arrived in the UK and want to quickly build a career in a skilled trade, this course offers a practical opportunity to develop industry-relevant CCTV installation skills through comprehensive hands-on training.
If you work in or around security and want to add certified installation skills to your existing knowledge, this course fills that gap precisely. You will leave qualified to carry out CCTV installations independently and charge accordingly.
Every element of the course is covered by this fee — three days of training, all equipment and materials, your certificate, and a month of personal support after you finish. There are no additional costs, no extras to purchase, and no surprises.
Secure your place in our June, July, August, or September cohort for the special founding rate of £445. From October onwards, the programme fee will increase to £595.
Six places per cohort. Your £50 deposit is deducted from the full course fee on confirmation. The remaining balance of £395 is due before the course start date. Need to spread the cost? Message us on WhatsApp and we will discuss a payment arrangement.
Working with recognised CCTV and security technology brands.
Each cohort is limited to six delegates. Once a date is fully booked, the following cohort is the next available opportunity. If you are considering a particular date, securing your place sooner rather than later avoids disappointment.
We are currently taking our very first cohort of delegates. Complete the course, share your experience honestly, and your account could be the one that helps the next person decide to take the same step. Founding delegates receive the lowest price we will ever offer, the smallest group size, and the most direct access to the trainer. There are six places. A number are already taken.
Join the Founding CohortThe CCTV installation course is the first programme in a planned series covering the most in-demand skills in the UK security industry. The courses below are currently in development. Register your interest and you will be contacted directly when each one is ready to book — before it is advertised anywhere else.
For those who have completed the foundation course and want to go further — configuring IP camera systems on structured networks, managing VLANs, resolving remote access faults, and working with higher-specification NVR setups.
One of the most consistently requested skills in the UK security industry. This course covers the installation and commissioning of intruder alarm systems and explains how they are integrated with CCTV to create a complete, unified security solution.
An introduction to access control systems — how they work, how they are installed, and how they communicate with other security systems on a site. A skill that is increasingly specified on both residential and commercial projects.
