How it works
Most people who come to BE Academy have never touched a CCTV camera. By the time they leave, they can design a system, install it, configure it, and hand it over to a paying customer.
Join the free waiting list to register your interest, or pay a £50 priority deposit to secure your seat and guarantee the founding price. We accept a maximum of six delegates per cohort.
Spend each day in our workshop getting practical, hands-on experience. Every exercise uses the same equipment and methods used on professional installations. Your trainer works alongside you, not in front of you.
Leave with a certificate of completion, a pricing reference guide, and the practical ability to quote and carry out a CCTV installation for a paying customer, with 30 days of personal support if you need it.
About your trainer
There is a significant difference between a trainer who has studied CCTV installation and one who carries it out commercially every week.
Every technique on this course has been used on actual jobs, in residential and commercial premises across Greater Manchester, so what you learn is current, practical and relevant to what customers actually ask for. Delivered by British Engineers, a security and engineering company operating professionally across Greater Manchester for over a decade.
What you will learn
Each day builds directly on the one before. You do not need any prior experience to begin.
Hands-on work on the same specification of equipment used on professional jobs.
From configuring the recorder to pricing the job and handing it over.
Identify and explain the differences between analogue, HD-over-coax and IP CCTV systems, and advise a customer on which suits their property and budget.
Design a complete 4 to 8 camera system for a home or small business, specify the correct equipment and produce an accurate written quote.
Mount cameras securely, route and terminate cabling to a professional standard, and test every connection before signing off a job.
Configure a DVR or NVR from scratch, including recording schedules, motion detection settings and secure remote viewing on a mobile device.
Diagnose and resolve the faults that arise most often: no picture, power supply failures and network connectivity problems.
Write a professional quote, price your labour accurately and conduct the customer handover conversation in a way that builds long-term trust.

Help & FAQs
Not at all. The course is designed for people who have never worked with CCTV or security systems. We start from the very beginning, explain everything clearly, and make sure nobody gets left behind. If you are prepared to engage with the training, your starting point is not relevant.
Nothing technical. All installation equipment, tools and course materials are provided as part of the fee. Wear clothing you are comfortable moving around in, as you will be on your feet for much of each day. Light refreshments are included throughout.
On successful completion you receive a Certificate of Completion from BE Academy, issued by British Engineers.
Yes. If you need to cancel, your £50 deposit is returned in full provided you tell us at least two weeks before the course date. If your circumstances change and you would rather move to a later cohort, we will accommodate that wherever possible. The deposit is deducted from your course fee on confirmation, leaving a balance of £395 due before the course begins.
Six. That number is fixed and will not be exceeded. It is a deliberate decision: six delegates means your trainer can give each person genuine individual attention, answer questions properly, and make sure nobody falls behind unnoticed.

We cannot place you in a job, and we will not suggest otherwise. You will leave with the practical skills to carry out professional CCTV installations, a certificate that evidences them, and 30 days of direct support as you take on your first jobs. The UK has a well-documented shortage of trained security system installers, and demand for qualified people is genuine and consistent.
